Chief Minister need not quit: CLP

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has said that the Government is answerable only to people and will not care for the repeated demand for resignation of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy over the alleged irregularities in the acquisition of land for Outer Ring Road project. Terming the demand `ridiculous,' Chief Whip N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and others at a press conferenceon Thursday wondered whether Dr. Reddy should resign because he `kept' his promises. . Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy lashed out at party leaders — K. Yerran Naidu and E. Peddi Reddy — and BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya for their remarks against Dr. Reddy. He questioned the need for Dr. Reddy to quit saying that people had duly elected him.
