ALIGARH: A professor of the Department of Chemistry at Aligarh Muslim University, Dr. M. Muneer, has been awarded Marie Curie Incoming International Fellowship to work on a collaborative project titled "Mesoporous photocatalysts for degradation of persistent organic pollutants" sanctioned by the European Commission. The project consists of two-year main phase work with Dr. Colin Boxall at the Centre for Materials Science in the University of Central Lancashire, Preston, United Kingdom, and a one-year re-integrative phase here at AMU's Department of Chemistry. Professor Kabir-ud-Din of the same Department of Chemistry will act as the scientist in charge for the re-integrative phase to monitor the project. The fellowship aims at attracting top-class researchers from Third World countries.
