BHOPAL: The Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary in charge of Madhya Pradesh affairs, Ananth Kumar, said here on Thursday that there was no possibility of the BJP opening its doors to those who had revolted and tried to split the party. Without naming former Chief Minister Uma Bharti, he said that the party leaders including Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L. K. Advani and Rajnath Singh were of the firm view that there was no place for rebels in the party. "Such elements belong to the past," he said, adding that the party workers in the State should have no confusion on this count. "The BJP has decided to bury the past and move ahead." Addressing the opening session of the State BJP unit's executive committee meeting at the party headquarters here, he said that the executive should work out a strategy to win the coming Vidisha and Bada Malehra by-elections. The Vidisha parliamentary seat has been vacated by Chief Minister S.S.Chauhan while Ms. Bharti had quit the Malehra Assembly seat when she left the BJP to form her new Outfit, Bharatiya Janashakti. Mr. Kumar said the party should win both these elections to convey the message that Madhya Pradesh continues to remain a citadel of the BJP and that no individual holds sway in the State. Mr. Kumar said "there was a general perception all over the country that in terms of the party organisation, Madhya Pradesh is the No. One State". He said the challenge now was to prove that Madhya Pradesh, led by the BJP, also ranks at the top when it comes to development.
