HYDERABAD: The Darsgah Jihad-o-Shahdat (DJS) has decided to organise a series of agitations demanding the State Government to withdraw what they alleged were `false cases' registered against its president Shaik Mahboob Ali and Muslim youngsters. The DJS will stage a dharna at Indira Park on October 5 and similar protests will be organised later in front of the residences of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Information Minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir and at Mecca Masjid, near Charminar, without prior information. Mr. Mahboob Ali, addressing a press conference here on Thursday, said the Chief Minister had earlier promised that the case registered under Section 307 of the IPC against him after the death of a youngster in an alleged encounter, near the DGP's office at Lakdikapul in 2004 would be withdrawn, but no action was taken till date. "The police have booked a false case against me even though I was not there when the incident occurred," he said. He criticised the police for foisting false cases against Mohammed Shakeel (25) of Akbarbagh in Saidabad who was arrested on September 3 on the charge of conspiring to kill a political leader.
