NIZAMABAD: The Bankers' District Consultative Committee has been asked to fulfil hundred per cent target given to them in the implementation of various schemes by November-end. In addition to the Government priority sectors of poverty alleviation and self-employment schemes, all units sanctioned under other schemes and programmes should be grounded on a war-footing and achieved good results, district Collector I. S. Sri Naresh said while addressing the committee meeting here on Thursday. In Indiramma model villages, over 20,000 houses were sanctioned but bank accounts were opened for only 3,000 beneficiaries, he said and asked the bankers to open accounts for remaining beneficiaries in coming 15 days. He suggested to bankers to plan loan melas from October 15 to 30 to achieve the target given under crop loans, personal loans, Rajiv Yuva Sakti, PMRY, Housing, SC/ST, BC, Minority Corporation and SHG schemes.
Crop loans
Lead Bank Manager Gururaj said as against the target of 40,078 farmers to be covered under the crop loans during the current kharif, 30,354 were provided with loans, registering 76 per cent achievement till September 15. Efforts were stepped up to cover the rest of the farmers at the earliest, he said. Assistant General Manager of NABARD Ramasubramaniam, Andhra Bank AGM A.S. Prabhakar Rao, SBI AGM Ashok, DWMA Project Director P. Ravinder and other officials were present.
