BELLARY: B. Sriramulu, Minister for Tourism and Infrastructure Development, has said a revised plan has been prepared for construction of a railway bridge at Satyanarayan Pet in Bellary city and would be forwarded to the Ministry of Railways for approval. Speaking to presspersons after discussing the revised plan at the proposed site with Deputy Commissioner Arvind Srivastav and other officials here on Friday, Mr. Sriramulu said the proposed bridge would cost nearly Rs. 14 crore as against the earlier estimate of Rs. 7 crore. According to him, the proposed bridge according to the revised plan would not block the existing connecting roads around the railway gate. The bridge would be constructed under the Karnataka-Rail Infrastructure Development Enterprise (K-RIDE) with the Union Government and State Government sharing the cost. Mr. Sriramulu was hopeful that the Union Government would give its approval to the revised plan within 45 days and the construction work would be completed in 18 months. Janardhan Reddy, suspended BJP MLC and S.J.V. Mahipal, former chairman of Bellary Urban Development Authority, accompanied the Minister.
