Letters to the Editor
C.V. Krishnamoorthy,
We should have a system of justice in which terrorists and suspected terrorists are handled with an iron hand, and not with velvet gloves. Terrorists who surrender or fringe elements who are on the borderline of terrorism can be shown leniency so that they get an opportunity to rebuild their lives. But those who are guilty of aiding, abetting in or committing terrorist acts should be shown no mercy. All those found guilty in the Mumbai blasts case should be given the most stringent punishment under the law.
Satbir Singh Bedi,
The media are full of reports, articles, editorials and opinions on the 1993 bomb blasts. It is possible that many found guilty will be given the death penalty. But what about justice for the victims of the Mumbai riots, which broke out after the demolition of the Babri Masjid? Police complicity with the rioters led to the killing of many innocent Muslims. The Justice Sri Krishna Commission has submitted a detailed report on the riots. But nothing has happened to those who aided and abetted in the acts of the perpetrators who are freely roaming the streets of Mumbai.
