BEIJING: Some 100 delegates from 12 countries will attend the first Tibetan Culture Forum in Beijing from October 10 and 11, where they will discuss cultural protection in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. The chief organiser, the China Association for the Preservation and Development of Tibetan Culture (CAPDTC), said the forum will include speeches, exhibitions on Tibetan culture, a tour in Beijing and a visit to Tibet by train running on the newly-launched Qinghai-Tibet Railway. Officials, celebrities, journalists and Tibetologists from 12 countries will attend the forum. More than 30 delegates are expected to deliver speeches. The organiser hopes the forum will help more people get to know Tibet. Xinhua
