Office to be shifted

The Employees State Insurance Corporation Branch office at Yeshwanthpur will be shifted to No.12, 2nd floor, 2nd main road, behind CMC NH-4, T. Dasarahalli from October 1, an official press release said.

Contest

Books short-listed for the Man Booker Award 2006 are on display at the British Library till October 10. A competition to guess the winner of this year's award is also being organised. For further information, call 22489220.

Elders' Day

Nightingale Medical Trust is conducting a cultural programme for elders on October 1 on the occasion of Elders' Day. Display of skills and talents, Cultural shows and games will be part of the programme. A talk show on bridging the generation gap will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The programme is free and open to all men and women above 60 years. Lecture

British Council is holding a lecture programme by Jimmy Wales, Founder of Wikipedia and Peter Johan Lor, secretary-general of International Federation of Library Associations on Saturday. It will be held at the British library at 10.15 a.m.
