DHARWAD: An anonymous telephone call that a bomb has been planted on the campus of the Karnataka Arts College created panic among students and staff of the college here on Saturday. However, after a search, the call turned out to be a hoax. Around 10.30 a.m., A.M. Ansari, peon, Physics Department of the Karnatak Science College received the call. The caller said that a bomb had been planted at the principal's chamber of the Karnatak Arts College, which is adjacent to the Karnataka Science College. He said the blast would occur at 1.30 p.m. Immediately, the peon alerted the principal of his college, who in turn contacted principal of the Karnatak Arts College N.G. Chachadi. The police rushed to the campus with a dog squad. After a search, the police declared that the call was a hoax.
