Training programme for small savings agents

Puducherry: Regional Director of the National Savings Institute (Chennai) T. Dasari held discussions with Director of Research and Planning Department of Puducherry Government M. Sreedharan recently on the small savings scheme operating in the Union Territory. It was decided at the meeting to conduct a four-day training programme in November to motivate small savings agents, postal and bank officials in the Union Territory. Resource persons would be deputed by the Institute to conduct the programme. There are 75 small savings agents, 30 postal employees and 25 bank officials associated with mobilisation of small savings.
