TTD offering to goddess

VIJAYAWADA: Tirupati-Tirumala Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board member Chadalavada Sudha will present `pattuvastrams' to Goddess Kanakadurga on behalf of the TTD on Vijayadasami Day. The board members will present the silk garments to the deity between 10 a.m. and 10.30 on Monday.

State function

District Collector Navin Mittal has issued instructions that October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, should be celebrated as a State Government function.

A circular to this effect has been issued to all mandal Revenue Officers to ensure that all State Government offices, local bodies and schools to celebrate the birth anniversary.

Cycling selections

The Krishna District Cycling Association announced that the district road race cycling selections would be conducted for athletes of all categories at the Patamata Zilla Parishad High School from 8.30 a.m. on October 3. The athletes should follow the dress code and produce the necessary age certificates.

Those selected would be given a chance to participate in the inter-district selections to be held in Rajahmundry.
