Celebrations begin in Chennai on October 3. South Australian Minister for Education, Tourism, Children Services and the City of Adelaide Jane Lomax Smith will launch `South Australia - A Brilliant Blend' featuring Darren Lehmann, South Australia's special envoy to India.

An essay writing competition will be held for students from classes 10 to 12 in the city in association with the Rotary Club of Madras. Nearly 50 schools are expected to participate, and the wining student will receive the prize from the Premier of South Australia Mike Rann.

    Prizes

The first prize will include a return air ticket to Adelaide and a week's stay for the student and an accompanying parent during which the student will get to interact with educational institutions in South Australia as well as a holiday at Kangaroo Island.

Mike Rann will be visiting India accompanied by a business delegation towards the end of October. He will be calling upon top political and business leaders in India to promote trade and investment ties.

Seeking `sister state' relationship with Tamil Nadu that has synergy in areas such as education, sports, agribusiness, films, water and automotive will also be on the agenda.
