Plea to streamline essentials' supply

Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA: The city committee of the Communist Party of India-Marxist on Friday submitted a memorandum to the Joint Collector S. Suresh Kumar demanding steps to ensure proper distribution of essential commodities through fair price shops.

The leaders also wanted the authorities concerned to issue white ration cards to the eligible families.

They said many poor families were denied rice in the FP shops on the pretext that they did not have photo identity cards.

They said the number of FP shops should be increased to cater to the increased number of eligible families for white ration cards.
