Settlement of water charges

KOCHI: The Kerala Water Authority has allowed one-time settlement of arrears of water charge fine at 14.5 per cent interest for non-domestic and industrial consumers for a period of 45 days from October 5 to November 18. This is a part of an intensive collection drive of the agency. Consumers can submit their applications at the offices of the assistant executive engineer concerned. — Staff Reporter

`Media should play moderate role'

KOCHI: The former judge of the High Court of Kerala K.P. Radhakrishna Menon has said that judges are often influenced by `trial by the media.' The media should play a moderate role, he said, at a talk organised by the Kerala High Court Advocates' Association on `Trial by the media and freedom of the press.' — Staff Reporter
