Man robbed of cash

Bangalore: Four persons waylaid a motorcyclist and relieved him of cash and ornaments on Taralabalu Road in R.T. Nagar police station limits on Friday night.

Pankaj Kumar, the victim, was going to attend the Duga puja celebrations at HMT grounds along with a friend when an autorickshaw overtook them and blocked their path near the Shiva temple. Three persons who were in the autorickshaw and the vehicle driver threatened Pankaj Kumar and snatched his wallet.

They also took away his bracelet and gold ring, all worth about Rs. 30,000.

Suffers burns

Sita (34), a resident of Sidedahalli in Peenya police station limits, suffered severe burns in an accident on Saturday morning. According to the police, Sita went to the kitchen to prepare tea for her husband. She did not notice that the kerosene stove was leaking.

As soon as she lit the stove, there was a fire. Her husband Sita and neighbours who came to her rescue shifted her to a private hospital. Her condition is stated to be critical, the police said.
