VISAKHAPATNAM: The Veterinary wing of the Public Health Department of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation raided 67 shops for selling meat and chicken in violation of the closure orders on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, according to City Veterinary Officer N. Karunakara Rao. A fine of Rs. 5,000 was imposed on them and 50 kg of meat seized. An incident of animal sacrifice was prevented in the Old Bus Stand area. Meanwhile, the Gajuwaka police raided two shops and seized 84 bottles of liquor and Rs.3,600 in cash for selling liquor in violation of the closure orders.
