THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram District Sports Council will conduct a three-day games festival here from Oct. 7. The festival is part of the Sports Authority of India's `Promotion of Sports and Games in Schools' scheme, according to Collector N. Ayyappan. The three-day event is open to U-16 boys and girls. Competitions will be held in archery, athletics, badminton, ball badminton, basketball, hockey, football, volleyball, table tennis, weightlifting, wrestling and swimming. Winning teams and individuals will be eligible to represent the district in the State-level festival to be held later.
