Security to be tightened at Guruvayur

THRISSUR: Security will be tightened at Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple in view of the recent developments like letter bombs.

This was decided at a meeting of the police and Guruvayur Devaswom officials here on Tuesday. The police officials assured the Devaswom authorities that the strength of the police personnel deployed at Guruvayur would be enhanced significantly from the present strength of 54.

Modern security devices, including metal detectors would be made available to the police personnel on duty at Guruvayur temple.

The police officials also assured the temple authorities that steps would be taken to ensure coordination between the police personnel and the Devaswom security staff on duty at the temple.
