Tennis photography awards

MUMBAI: The Kingfisher Airlines Tennis Open 2006 photography awards, sponsored by Venky's India Limited, were announced for daily action photographs during the ATP Tour event here.

Seven sports photographers were chosen out of 70 pictures submitted over the week and given Rs.5000 each. Mahesh Bhupathi of Globosport, the event promoters, handed over the prizes after the finals on Monday.

The awardees: Shirish Shete (PTI), Vivek Bendre (The Hindu), Kevin D'Souza (Indian Express), Gautam Sen (Rashtriya Sahara), K.K. Choudhury (Afternoon Dispatch & Courier), Sebastian D'Souza (AFP), Santosh Harhare (Hindustan Times).
