TIRUPATI: Boys representing the Chittoor district cricket team returned home triumphant after bagging the winner's cup in the 20-Twenty Cricket Championship held at Karimnagar recently. Teams representing 14 districts participated in the tourney and matches were conducted on knockout basis. The Chittoor team beat the host Karimnagar in the finals. Chittoor beat Kadapa by 170 runs and Nellore by 90 runs in the league matches, while it beat West Godavari by five wickets in the semi-finals and Karimnagar by eight wickets in the finals. The Chittoor team also had the distinction of making the tournament's highest score of 248 runs in 20 overs. Surprisingly enough, Chittoor boys bagged all the top three honours.
