Tight schedule awaits YSR

Special Correspondent

To tour Chittoor district on October 6 and 7

  • To launch programme to hold district-wise review meetings
  • YSR to commission biggest sub-station in Rayalaseema region

TIRUPATI: A busy schedule awaits Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on October 6 as he flies into Chittoor, the district headquarter town, 65 km from here on a two-day official visit.

The visit to the district in less than two weeks is significant, as he will be launching his Statewide programme to hold district-wise review meetings from here.

According to his tentative programme, Dr. Reddy will land at the makeshift helipad at Gangadhara Nellore sometime in the evening on October 6 and proceed immediately to Mahadeva Mangalam in the same mandal to commission the biggest sub-station in the entire Rayalaseema region.

He will later declare open a private hotel at Chittoor and is expected to stay there overnight.

The next morning before being closeted with the district officials for a protracted review meeting, sources said that he might visit the famous Varasiddhi Vinayaka temple at Kanipakkam.

His schedule also indicates that he will inaugurate the newly built complex of the DM & HO's office and later lay the foundation stone for the new Collector Office premises on the Chittoor-Vellore highway.

Winding up his tight schedule Dr. Reddy will leave by his chopper for Hyderabad on the evening of October 7 after the review meeting. With barely two days to go for the Chief Minister's visit, the Collectorate is humming with activity with officials getting the various reports ready for the review meeting.

The district police have thrown a thick security blanket.
