CHANDIGARH: The arrival of paddy has been picking up gradually in Haryana and 537,388 metric tonnes have already reached 173 grain markets so far, Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said here on Tuesday.
Minimum Support Price
He said that out of the total paddy arrivals, 433,956 metric tonnes had been procured by five Government agencies at the Minimum Support Price and the remaining 103,454 metric tonnes had been purchased by the private millers and traders. He said that Kurukshetra traders was leading with 174,389 metric tonnes followed by Karnal with 131,534 metric tones, Fatehabad 88,577 metric tonnes and Kaithal 65,243 metric tones. He added that the Haryana Government had arranged Rs.1,000 crore so that the farmers could be paid within 48 to 72 hours.
