NEW DELHI: The 25th biennial academic conference of the All-India Federation of University and College Teachers' Organisations (AIFUCTO) — scheduled to be held in Chennai from October 13 — has been postponed in view of the local body elections in Tamil Nadu. The three-day conference will now be held in Chennai from December 1.

General secretary V.K. Tewari said the hosts of the conference — Association of University Teachers of Tamil Nadu — sought a postponement since many of the teachers would be put on election duty.
