Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram can now boast of a full-fledged organic Shoppe from where one can buy a host of vegetables and fruits produced in farms with organic certifications. Organic tea, coffee, cardamom, pepper, peas, honey, squash, etc., are the other products that are available.

Green tea, supposed to have the ability to prevent cancer too is available here. Safe rice and `puttu podi' are the additional attractions. Kerala's world famous wonder rice `navara,' with organic certification, will be available very shortly.

Tea, coffee, lime, squash, honey, etc., come from Poabs owned farm at Nelliyampatty. Poabs estate is acclaimed as one of the largest organic farms in the world in the prestigious category of perennial crops.

Another unique attraction is organic eggs collected from indigenous hens.

The shoppee is located on Green Valley road near Patton-Plamoodu junction. The Shoppee was opened by the former Director of Regional Cancer Centre M. Krishnan Nair.
