JAIPUR: Opposition Congress members clashed with the Government in the Rajasthan Assembly on Wednesday over the construction of a Haj House in Sanganer with the Ministers and Treasury MLAs trying to evade the debate, even as differences within the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party emerged on the issue. Speaker Sumitra Singh initially disallowed an adjournment motion in the matter moved by Congress MLA, Mohammed Mahir Azad, on the ground of the issue having been taken to a local court. When Mr. Mahir Azad insisted that essential elements of the controversy were not sub judice, the Speaker allowed him to address the House briefly. However, the treasury members, led by the ruling paty's Chief Whip Mahavir Prasad Jain, took exception to the Haj House issue being raised in the Assembly and created a din.
