India Red wins

Chennai: Openers Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir built a solid platform for India Red. Wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik provided the thrust. Then, a combination of pace and spin signalled India Green's end in the Challenger Series match here on Tuesday.

After Red reached a daunting score of 317 for four, the heat was on Green in a must-win situation. For the second day running, it was undone by the pressures of the chase, after the bowlers had let the side down.

India Red won the match by 39 runs.
