Madrid: The Netherlands was held to a goalless draw by Germany but still managed to top Pool `A' in the women's World Cup hockey tournament here on Wednesday. With Wednesday's draw they finished their pool matches with 13 points. Japan outclassed South Africa to seal an emphatic 3-0 win.
China beats India
China won a bottom-of-the-table clash with India 1-0 thanks to a 25th-minute goal by Fu Bao Rong. Both teams were without a win going into the match, however, China had a huge minus-nine goal difference. Meanwhile, the United States defeated South Korea 1-0, with Barber scoring in the 31st minute. On Tuesday, India suffered its third defeat, going down 3-2 to Spain in a Pool `A' match. Agencies
