MYSORE: Pavan Kumar (18), a construction worker, drowned in the Varuna Canal near Srirampura Ring Road here on Wednesday. He went there for a swim along with three others. Sources said the incident occurred around 11 a.m. Efforts made by three others to rescue Pavan went in vain as he was swept away. The body was recovered around 3.30 p.m. The sources said that it was the third such incident in the past four months. Three persons had died in two such incidents.
