JAIPUR: The Centre for Community Economics and Development Consultants' Society (CECOEDECON) -- a Jaipur-based non-Government organisation -- will organise various events in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh on October 15 and 16 to mark the U.N. Millennium Development Goals. CECOEDECON, which has been selected as a partner of the U.N. Millennium Campaign, will hold the largest-ever "stand-up'' against poverty and for the MDGs, which is expected to make a world record. The campaign will support citizens' efforts to make their Governments accountable for the millennium promise. CECOEDECON secretary Sharad Joshi said here on Wednesday that various events would be organised in Jaipur, Bhopal and Indore in association with other partner bodies, such as Wada Na Todo Abhiyan, to generate public opinion and solicit mass support for the Millennium Development Campaign.
Global
While Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has assured that the State Government would join the global stand-up, the Vice-Chancellor of Rajasthan University, N.K. Jain, has agreed to hold the similar exercise in the varsity premises.
