Rajnath may be re-elected

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party's organisational polls are expected to be completed at the State level by the end of October and there is little doubt now that Rajnath Singh will be elected for the position of all-India president for a three-year tenure by mid-November.

Although organisational polls have been deferred in Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Punjab and Manipur, where Assembly elections are due in a few months, and Delhi because of the coming municipal polls, there will be no difficulty in completing the election of the national party president as the BJP constitution requires polling to be completed in at least 50 per cent of the States before the national level election.
