Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 179th All India Build-A-Home exhibition `Elextrex-2006' will get underway in the city at 11.30 a.m. on October 6. About 80 companies would take part in the four-day expo organised by the Indian Trade Fair Foundation at the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium. This was stated at a press conference here on Wednesday by foundation chief executive N. Gopakumar.

"The Fair will feature construction material, electrical equipment, products for interior decoration and furniture," Mr. Gopakumar said.

This year, two major discussions would also be organised as part of the expo in association with the Federation of Residents Associations of Thiruvananthapuram (FRAT). One will be on `The Problems of City Dwellers', and the other, on `New Technologies in the Power Sector.' The first discussion is expected to deal with such issues as the mosquito menace and the dog menace in the city and on the need to clean up the city's rivers and canals.

There will also be talks each evening at the expo. While S. Sreekumar will speak on `Astrology and Your Future' on October 6, M. Nandakumar will speak about `Palmistry' on October 7. On October 8 there will be a talk on `Numerology' by Dr. R. Velayudhan and on the concluding day there will be a talk on how to reduce construction costs by R. Jayakumar the director of the firm `Arsha Vasthu.'

There will be facilities for free vasthu consultation at the fair, a home loan mela and a real estate counter.

An inter-office quiz, a `karaoke' singing contest and spelling, general knowledge and painting contests for children would be organised at the expo, Mr. Gopakumar added.
