AKPCTA plans curriculum workshops

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: All Kerala Private College Teachers' Association (AKPCTA) will organise two-day curriculum workshops in 18 subjects aimed at updating the existing syllabus of degree courses in various universities in the State based on a semester pattern.

The workshops have been conceived to take care of the lacunae and to develop a new State-level model curriculum representing the developments in various subjects.

Convener of the academic committee of the association Rajan Varghese said the model curriculum should introduce innovative concepts, provide a multi-disciplinary profile and allow a flexible cafeteria-like approach. Efforts will be made to integrate frontier areas of knowledge into the curriculum in an appropriate manner.
