Streamlining traffic

The traffic signal installed on Rajaji Road on Sunday has helped streamline traffic on the arterial road.

Residents in the city are gradually getting accustomed to an automatic traffic signal after nearly a decade.

The signal on Rajaji Road has been installed on trial basis to set the timers to the number of vehicles passing through the four directions, including Mavoor Road. Sunday and Monday being holidays, the policeman on duty here found it easy to regulate the traffic.

However, Tuesday proved to be quite tough for the policeman who had to shout out to drivers to prevent them from breaking the signal.
