Blood bank officer gets State award
|
CHENNAI
: Stanley Medical College and Hospital has added another feather to its cap. The hospital's blood bank now not only meets the needs of its patients but also supplies other government institutions.
The hospital's blood bank officer, N. Rajkumar, received the `best blood bank medical officer award' from Governor Surjit Singh Barnala at a function held in Raj Bhavan on Sunday. Last year, Stanley had received the best blood bank in the state award.
The function was jointly organised by Tamil Nadu State Aids Control Society, the Chennai Corporation's Aids Prevention and Control Society and the Tamil Nadu Blood Transfusion Council.
October 1 is celebrated as national voluntary blood donation day, and a function is held.
