HYDERABAD : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has ordered the constitution of a task force with senior officials to monitor the mosquito eradication programme in the State periodically. Reviewing the mosquito menace on Thursday in the wake of reports of dengue fever cases in the State, Dr. Reddy wanted the Principal Secretary of Medical and Health to head the task force.Officials informed Dr. Reddy that nine dengue cases were reported this year but there were no deaths. Two patients had died last year when 99 dengue cases were reported. There was not a single instance of Japanese Encephalitis in 2006.
