VISAKHAPATNAM: The Delimitation Commission, appointed by the Centre to reorganise the boundaries of the Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies according to the 2001 census figures and also reclassify reserved constituencies, will hold public hearing in Andhra Pradesh next month and complete the work in December. Working paper relating to reorganisation of boundaries of 42 Lok Sabha constituencies and 294 Assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh is being prepared by the Commission and it will be circulated to the associate members of the Commission who are elected representatives like MPs and MLAs, said Commission Chairman Justice Kuldip Singh. He said the public hearing would be conducted at four places in Andhra Pradesh, one at Hyderabad and the remaining in the cities preferred by the members in regions like Telangana, Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra. "Though it is a laborious process, everything is going on smoothly," he said. He pointed out that once the Commission gave its fThe new set up of the constituencies would come into force from the day the President gave his assent, Justice Singh said. Though there would not be any changes in the actual number of Lok Sabha constituencies, the geographical area and names of some of the constituencies are likely to be modified. Justice Singh said the Commission had already completed its work in 16 States and Union territories . The wants to complete the entire exercise and wind up its proceedings by March 31, 2007.
