KANNUR: The public sector Kerala Clays and Ceramic Products Ltd. (KCCPL) at Pappinissery under the State Industries Department has remitted to the State Government a dividend of Rs.14.5 lakh for the year 2005-06. A press release from the company here said that the dividend had been handed over to Industries Minister Elamaram Karim recently by its chairman P. Ramachandran. The company had been paying dividend to the State Government for the last 17 years in succession. It had been making profit for the last 19 years. The company with a paid up capital of Rs.131.82 lakh had so far paid Rs.161.30 lakh to the Government as dividend. The KCCPL had remitted Rs.79.48 lakh to State and Central Government in 2005-06 in payment of sales tax, income tax and royalty. The major achievements of the company in 2005-06 included purchase of 50 acre land at Karinthalam in Kasaragod and starting of a unit for mining high aluminous laterite. KCCPL Managing Director N. Lakshmanan Nambiar was present when the dividend was handed over to the Industries Minister.
