KOCHI: A panel led by Swami Prakasananda won the election to the Sree Narayana Dharma Sanghom Trust (SNDST) held on Thursday. The first meeting of the new director board elected Swami Prakasananda president of the trust and Swami Rithambarananda general secretary. Swami Amritananda was elected treasurer. The new office-bearers will assume office at Sivagiri, the seat of the trust, between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday, Swami Rithambarananda said. He said it was a victory of Sree Narayana's principles and truth. The following are the swamis elected, with votes they got in brackets: Swami Anupekshananda (31), Swami Amritananda (36), Swami Arupananda (34), Swami Rithambarananda (35), Swami Prakasananda (34), Swami Muneendrananda (32), Swami Raghavananda (32), Swami Vikhyatananda (31), Swami Vishalananda (31), Swami Saradananda (32), and Swami Sadroopananda (48). The elected swamis offered prayers at the Advaita Ashram, Aluva. Swami Prakasananda told presspersons after the elections that it was a victory of Sree Narayana dharma. The administration of the trust would be carried out according to the principles laid down by Sree Narayana Guru. The support extended by the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam to the panel was decisive, he said.
