Ratnika, Akshay reign supreme

NEW DELHI: Twelve-year-old Ratnika Batra, a student of Bal Bharati School, Pitampura, clinched the girls' under-18 title with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Nova Patel of Gujarat in the final of the AITA Championship Series junior tennis tournament at the Punjabi Bagh Club courts here on Thursday.

The results (all finals):

Boys: U-18: Akshay Kohli bt Nikunj Siwach 6-2, 6-0.

Doubles: Lakshit Sood/ Nikunj Siwach bt Rubal Shandilya/ Prasejit Paul 6-2, 6-4.

U-14: Rohit Bisht bt Karan Chaudhry 6-7(3), 6-4, 6-3.

Girls: U-18: Ratnika Batra bt Nova Patel 6-4, 6-2.

Doubles: Nova Patel/ Rishika Sunkara bt Neha Rana/ Sanjana Kapoor 6-2, 6-4.

U-14: Surya Tejaswini bt Amrita Mukherjee 7-5, 5-7, 7-5. — Special Correspondent
