Vaijnath Patil slams Maharashtra

Staff Correspondent

Dharnas to be held in all districts of the region from today

  • Demand for inclusion of Hyderabad-Karnataka area under Article 371
  • Committee has suspended its demand for a separate State

BIDAR: The Maharashtra Government is raising the border issue just to divert the attention of its people from other problems facing it, former Minister and MLA Vaijnath Patil alleged in Bidar on Wednesday.

According to Mr. Patil, there were many problems facing Maharashtra like farmers suicides, lack of development of some parts of that State, demands for a separate State by the people of Vidarbha, corruption allegations and others.

"The Government wants to divert the attention of the people from these important issues so that its failures were not highlighted. Raking up emotional issues like a border dispute is the easiest way to achieve this," Mr. Patil told presspersons.

    Committee leaders were present.
