NEW DELHI: Kendriya Bhandar, the Central Government employees' consumer cooperative society, has declared a 15 per cent dividend for the financial year 2005-06 for all shareholders including the Central Government. The organisation recorded a sales turnover of Rs. 279.79 crores and a net profit of Rs. 2.14 crores during the year. This was lower than the preceding year "due to highly adverse impact of certain decisions of the Ministry of Urban Development and the Ministry of Finance", it was stated at the 43rd annual general meeting of the Bhandar here this past weekend. Chairman S.P. Tyagi, Managing Director Jagdeesh Bhatia and the Workers' Union have collectively appealed to the Government "to review its recent decisions sympathetically and come to Kendriya Bhandar's rescue in this difficult period".
