Pulling out all the stops

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Shopping malls with their milling crowds are considered soft targets for any kind of violence. During the bandh, the larger malls pulled out all the stops to avert any untoward incident. The largely glass facades were cobered with nylon nets and plastic sheets and posted additional security guards.

Not content with these precautions, some of them went a step further by draping red and yellow Kannada flags around their entrances.

Some went to the extent of displaying larger banners proclaiming "Karnataka Bandhge Namma Bembalavide."
