WHIZZ-KID: Nischal Narayanan with Prof. F. Hangell of University of Udine at the Birla Science Centre.
HYDERABAD: A group of Italian professors in mathematics got a taste of `Ganitha Avadhanam' from child genius and Guinness world record holder, Nischal Narayanan, in an interactive session held at B.M Birla Science Centre here on Wednesday. The youngster solved some of the toughest mathematical calculations in a jiffy and at times even calculated faster than a normal calculator. The 11-member Italian team headed by F. Honsell, Vice-Chancellor of University of Udine, Venice, were spellbound by the accuracy of Nischal when he told a fraction up to 18 digits. Nischal also showcased his prowess in memorising and recollecting over 100 random objects in a span of about 10 minutes. Mr. Honsell congratulated Nischal on his achievement of memorising and then recollecting random objects and pointed out that children like him were very hard to come by even in well developed European countries. The interaction session was a part of an Indo-Italian workshop on `IT-Research, Education and Industry'.
