Student dies in accident

Thiruvananthapuram : One school student was killed and 29 persons injured when the van in which they were travelling overturned at Pachira on the Pothencode-Kaniyapuram route on Thursday morning. Nebin, 15, hailing from Kallara, succumbed to injuries at the Medical College Hospital (MCH) late tonight. The injured were admitted to the MCH. Education Minister M.A. Baby and District Collector N. Ayyappan visited the hospital. — Staff Reporter

One killed

Thiruvananthapuram : A 48-year-old man was killed and his wife seriously injured when the motorbike in which they were travelling collided with a van at Idapazhanji on Thursday morning. The police identified the deceased as Venu, a resident of Mannamkonam.
