HYDERABAD: Former BJP president M. Venkaiah Naidu has demanded that the Government order an inquiry by a sitting judge with a fixed timeframe into the irregularities in the Outer Ring Road project. At a press conference here on Thursday, he said the probe should be solely into the ORR project and other issues should not be brought under its scope since serious allegations were made against people holding high positions. Earlier, BJP State president N. Indrasena Reddy released posters on the three-day scooter yatra being launched by the party on the ORR project from Friday. The yatra being organised under the aegis of Dalit Morcha would be led by former BJP president Bangaru Laxman. It would traverse through 70 villages and cover 210 kms in Ranga Reddy and Medak districts. Meanwhile, the Left parties . in a joint statement issued later, wanted the Government to stop the work on the ORR project till the completion of the judicial probe. They said it was not proper on the part of the Government to bring IMG Bharata and other companies into the purview of the inquiry as it may divert the entire process. They wanted compensation on land-to-land basis and the "real estate business" by HUDA be stopped.
