MAKING A POINT: Members of the DJS protesting against alleged police harassment, near Indira Park on Thursday. PHOTO: P. V. Sivakumar
HYDERABAD: The Darsgah Jihad-O-Shahadat (DJS) will stage a demonstration against the police officials, who are allegedly harassing its activists, here at Mecca Masjid on October 13. "Praying the Almighty for justice, we'll curse police officials harassing us hoping they and their families land in all kinds of troubles," said DJS vice-president M.A. Majid on Thursday. He was speaking to reporters after demonstrating with a handful of activists at Indira Park in protest against the alleged pestering by the police officials. Before that, they would stage a sit-in in front of Information and Public Relations Minister Shabbir Ali's residence in city on Monday urging him to withdraw the "false cases" registered against DJS president Shaik Mahbub Ali and other party workers. Alleging that Hyderabad Detective Department ACP L.K. Shinde had persuaded one of their recently arrested activists, Shakeel, to assassinate Mr. Ali, he urged the Government to register a conspiracy case against the ACP.
