18th century dentures on show for World Smile Day

LONDON: To mark World Smile Day on Friday, the Museum of London is offering a new exhibit: an 18th century set of porcelain dentures of a French archbishop. The 200-year old set came from the mouth of Arthur Richard Dillon (1721-1806), Archbishop of Narbonne, who fled to Britain during the French Revolution to escape the guillotine. It was found in his coffin during excavations for a terminus for a rail link to the Channel Tunnel. — AP
