HYDERABAD: Communist Party of India State secretary K. Narayana, secretariat member T. Lakshminarayana and hundreds of other leaders and workers were arrested at two different places in the State capital as they took out processions demanding implementation of GO 610. Other demands included a special package of Rs. 10,000 crores for comprehensive development of Telangana in addition to the allotment of funds for irrigation projects. Mr. Narayana, the party's city unit secretary Ram V. Narasimha Rao, assistant secretaries Satyam and Venkatesh and many others were arrested near Ambedkar statue on Tank Bund as they were going in a procession from Liberty to Secretariat. Mr. Lakshminarayana, Ranga Reddy district secretary N. Balamallesh and others were staging a dharna opposite the Ranga Reddy Collectorate when they were picked up. All those arrested were taken to Nampally police station and let off on personal surety.
