HYDERABAD: The EdCET Convenor will fill 80 per cent of the B.Ed seats leaving the 20 per cent to the management quota this year. Last year, managements had only 15 per cent of seats. This decision was taken at a meeting of B.Ed college managements called by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) here on Friday. Eighty per cent minority college seats would be filled by the Convenor. The managements' request for a hike in fee from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 30,000 was turned down. The fee issue would be discussed only when the admission notification is issued.
Results on October 13
Council Chairman K.C. Reddy said that B.Ed results were likely to be released on October 13. Admissions would begin in November. On Deccan College of Engineering and Technology not admitting students allotted by the Convenor, he said the Government had requested the Advocate-General to bring it to the notice of the court as classes had already begun in other colleges.
